Over 30 years ago, Marco Rubino moved from his hometown, Rome, Italy, where he spent the first part of his life, to the United States with his wife and two young daughters. He settled in Plano, Texas and after about ten years, moved to Dallas. From the University of Rome, he earned a Master Degree in Engineering (Building Construction). While in Italy, he also enjoyed architectural and interior design, drawing, and painting.
Although he was working as an engineer in the US, he was driven to pursue his love of art and artistic expression. Once in Plano, he frequented all the graduate courses in drawing, design, and sculpture offered at Collin County Community College.
It was within the art courses at Collin County Community College, taken with the intent of seriously dedicating his life to art, that he discovered his passion for sculpting in steel. Since the beginning of the 1990's, he has created steel sculptures of different sizes, that express the connection between human life, the environment and nature. He is a member of the Texas Sculptors Association and has participated in several exhibits in Dallas/Fort Worth area and Houston. He also has been commissioned to create several indoor and outdoor sculptures that are now part of private collections.
