Joe Allred

Joe Allred, (Lawrence E. “Joe” Allred, PhD) began metal sculpture in 2015 after a long career in biomedical science in industry and then in academia, creating several pharmaceutical and medical device companies from university research discoveries. Early creative work in writing fiction and stage theater gave way to a career in science and business. After retirement, metal sculpture has become his passion. Two previous works, EPICYCLES and ECCENTRICITY, were accepted for the 2017 State Fair of Texas sculpture exhibition. Subsequently, these two pieces were both selected in competition for the 2017-2018 Art Tracks exhibition in Palestine, Texas where they will be displayed for a year, until November 2018. IRON DESERT BLOOM is the next, more complex piece as Allred progresses with his sculptural theme of organometallic forms.
